Code of Conduct
PauseOnError (Pause), including Suitcase Protocol, is committed to providing harassment-free experiences including conferences, events, public channels, private channels and direct messages, both online and off for participants to connect, collaborate, and share ideas. All participants have a right to a safe and welcoming environment regardless of gender expression and identity, physical appearance, race, body size, ethnicity, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation or any other attribute.
Honest and spirited dialogue is encouraged, and opposing viewpoints are welcome but we do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form. Harassment may include, but is not limited to:
-
Offensive or demeaning verbal comments, physical gestures, collateral material, and social media posts that demean, intimidate, threaten, or otherwise uninvitedly target an individual.
-
Harassing photography or recording.
-
Gratuitous or off-topic sexual images or behavior in spaces where they're not appropriate.
-
Inappropriate physical contact.
-
Unwelcome sexual attention.
-
Deliberate intimidation.
-
Stalking or following - online or in the physical world.
-
Bullying, teasing, or diminishing someone's tech prowess or technical choices.
-
Sharing of private communication (unless it's to report harassment).
-
Physical contact and simulated physical contact (eg, textual descriptions like "hug" or "backrub") without consent or after a request to stop.
-
Threats of violence.
-
Sustained disruption of Pause functions.
Participants engaging in any of these actions will be asked to stop all offending behavior and must comply immediately. Failure to comply could result in expulsion from the event or space without refund and exclusion from future Pause activities.

It is the participant's obligation to be aware of and abide by all local, state, and federal laws. Please take special note if you are crossing state or country borders.
Anyone feeling unwelcome, threatened, intimidated, or afraid is encouraged to reach out to a conduct contact (below). Attendees witnessing harassment are obliged to report it. Conduct contacts will readily help participants experiencing harassment to contact local law enforcement or provide any other assistance to ensure all feel safe throughout Pause.
Who To Contact
